Fancy Face worked alongside amazing vendors to create a stunning, outside the box aesthetic with Something Blue at The Doctor’s House.
Our Fancy Face team headed to the gorgeous Doctor’s House in Kleinberg, Ontario for the beautiful Something Blue photoshoot. The venue was fabulous and is one that is consistently raved about by many brides, as the look is both lovely and versatile. Brides truly love getting married at The Doctor’s House as the venue is perfect for the ceremony and the reception, a veritable space for party and celebration!
We worked alongside the brilliant design company Social Rose and I had the pleasure of spending time with Rosanne, the owner and a dear friend. On a side note, we also recently hired her sister to be part of our team of hairstylists! We love it when our work and passions come full circle in that way. The gown was by Ines Di Santo, who makes absolutely epic and breathtaking dresses, and jewelry was by the amazing Tara Fava Jewellery, who is also a close friend and just so happened to be my wedding jewelry designer! What a great shoot this was to reconnect with amazing friends and colleagues. The wonderful So Pretty in Print, whom I know well from having worked with them on my own wedding invites, provided all of the blue stationary.
A couple of really stand out vendors to me were The Perfume Bar and The Mrs. Box. The famed Toronto Perfume Bar sets up a gorgeous little table, on this occasion in blue, of course, of perfumes to have mixed for you personally at the event. I really feel that this is a creative, appealing and wonderful gift to experience as guests for a wedding or other special event. The Mrs. Box company has this brilliant, beautiful and personalized way to create “heirloom worthy ring boxes made from custom dyed velvet”, with a plethora of colours to choose from. For this shoot a blue box with the stunning sapphire engagement ring held within it helped to embody the Something Blue theme.
Aesthetically the look of the bride is one that is often requested. We worked with two different hairstyles – one with the model’s hair pulled to the side for a more whimsical and glamorous look, and the other was an updo that created a beautiful yet sophisticated picture to frame the face and romantically elongate the neck. Lips were a simple, soft pink and her eyes had glamorous, wispy lashes that were complimented by warm brown and bronze eyeshadow tones.
As a final note on this shoot, I absolutely loved the Something Blue theme. I am a huge proponent of thinking outside the box when it comes to designing weddings and events, and adore the idea of moving away from the typical whites, creams and blushes that are so often used in weddings. The blue that enveloped this shoot added a level of whimsy and romance, and offered the perfect amount of creativity to invite brides to try something a little different for a spectacular wedding design.
