Brittany steps out of her comfort zone to rock 5 new, bold lip colours for fall

Hey there, lovelies! I need your help. I am a massive fan of the nude and pink lip tones, as you all well know. They’re my jam. I’m the kind of person who sticks to products I know and love and I have trouble stepping out of my comfort zone with my look, particularly in the case of my lip colour! But I don’t want to stay locked in that zone forever, especially with fall around the corner. I’m ready to shake things up! So now it’s time for me to ask you all to go through my 5 different looks in this video, decide on your favourites and help me choose some new, bold lip colours for fall! Let’s do it!
Look One
For every colour I try, I’m going to start off by lining my lips with a nude pencil. To me, this is always a must. Today, I’m rocking the NYX Nude Beige Pencil.
Time to try some Lost Cherry, a demi matte lipstick by Charlotte Tilbury! I love these colours so much, I just don’t generally love them on me. But I’m ready to give it a shot, it’s time to step out of my comfort zone and see how I feel.
My thoughts: I don’t feel like myself at all, I’m a bit uncomfortable in it but I do think it’s a fun colour. What do you think!?
Look Two
Let’s dive into a fun, flirty pink! Fiore by Stila is bold and popping. The interesting thing about lipstick is that the second you put one on, you should feel something. You should get a vibe from it, either an uplifted, yes, girl – this feels good! Or a feeling of something not quite being right. The moment the colour is on your lips, you’ll know.
My thoughts: I think this one is more wearable for me than the Charlotte Tilbury colour. I like it. I could wear this one!
Look Three
Kir Royale by Bite Beauty is way darker than I’d normally go on my lips. It’s almost a wine red shade. It’s glossy and plumping which is a nice little bonus!
My thoughts: I like it, there’s a fab little pep in the step feel, though I’d wear this colour if I was just rocking mascara and the rest of the look was more subdued so the focal point could be the lips. Sexy!
Look Four
Time to roll out the vintage lipstick. I got this lovely rouge on my honeymoon (don’t worry, it’s still good! I checked!), it’s by Christian Louboutin and it’s a deep, red matte colour. I actually bought it as more of a nostalgic little gift to remember our time in Paris, not to actually wear it! It’s way darker than any red I’m comfortable with, but that’s what I’m going for. Here’s to trying new things! And to nostalgia!
My thoughts: Oh. My. I don’t know how I feel about this colour. Ok I’m going to say it, my Mom would absolutely live for this shade! She’d love it! Sorry, Mom! I definitely don’t feel comfortable in this shade. But I want to know what you all think. So tell me! Be honest!
Look Five
This next colour is Stellar by Girlactik. I admit it. I’m a little scared to put this one on.
My thoughts: Ok. Well, it’s a look…haha. This colour is way too dark for me. I know some ladies who love this shade because it’s a really bold look, but I don’t feel like me at all rocking this shade. Dare I ask, what do you think?!
Phew! There you have it. If you’ve watched the video and read this post, you’ve seen me stumble through 5 different lip colours that I’m not totally comfortable with because I’m wanting to try something new and step out with a bold lip colour for fall! So tell me what you think! If I had to choose, I’d go with look two, personally. Do you have a favourite? Do you think there’s one I should rock? Or do you think I should stick with my tried and true nudes and pinks? Whatever your thoughts, I encourage you to try on some new colours and products to see if there is anything else outside of your normal look that makes you feel beautiful. Then tell me what colours you love!
Til next time…x
