Hey, beauties! Welcome to our 5th and final segment in our Beauty Expert Series exploring why layering skincare products is a must! We’ve given you insight into ingredients, products and benefits. Now we want to share with you our top tips for layering skincare products so you can get the most bang for your buck!
✨ Apply from the lightest texture to the thickest texture, for example, you’d apply your serum before you lathered on that hydrating cream, for the best results. Thicker products first can impede the absorption of lighter products.
✨ Make sure you don’t mix too many active ingredients, specifically hydroxy acids (AHAs or BHAs). Doing so can potentially cause the products to be less effective or, more adversely, cause unpleasant skin irritation.
✨ Ensure your higher active ingredients are being used on freshly cleansed skin so they can really seep deeply and more effectively into your pores.
✨ Give your serum 30 seconds to absorb before applying your moisturizer in order to ensure it has fully worked its magic before adding other ingredients into the mix.
By taking these tips into consideration, you can better plan for a wonderful and more impactful skincare routine that does its best to improve your skin condition and leave you feeling like the best version of you ─ from the outside in and the inside out!
